“Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’” Matthew 1:23 NLT
Have you ever felt alone, that no one else could understand what you’re thinking, feeling, or experiencing? Every one of us has wrestled with a moment like this. Yet, Jesus is Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’ We are not alone; we are not solitary in our fears, our pain, our guilt, or our shame - Jesus is always present. Not as an admonisher, but as a constant and loving companion and mentor, guiding us to restoration, hope, healing, and wholeness. He is neither surprised nor angered by our failings, but is ‘an ever present help in trouble,’ the source of strength that carries us through our day.

Heavenly Father, thank you for never giving up on me. I thank You that, as I continue to grow in more of who I am in You, You guide, shelter, and protect me each and every day. Thank You for Your strength in both my victories and my defeats, and for Your never-ending love. Amen.
