Welcome to NPWC!
We look forward to welcoming you to NPWC! We are a contemporary, inter-denominational church with guests and members from all races, backgrounds, and walks of life - we are people with many different stories, but with many things in common: a heart for God, for each other, for our community, and for the world! We don't pretend to be perfect, and we don't ask you to be, either; we just ask that you come ready to experience God.
At NPWC, we believe in being real, we believe in being transparent, and we believe in living a life completely sold out to Christ. Whether you're 2 or 102, we welcome you. Whether you're idea of dressed up is a 3-piece suit or a last week's t-shirt, we welcome you. Whether you're single, married, or somewhere in between, we welcome you. Whether you're just checking this whole God-thing out, or have been a believer since before you can remember, we welcome you.
At NPWC, we're not about perceptions, or processes, or parking spots; we're about people. And we'd very much like that "people" to be you! So, please, check us out. Ask questions. Contact us. Get to know us and give us the opportunity to get to know you. Let's travel this life journey together!
When are Sunday Worship Experiences held?
Our Sunday Worship Experiences are held on Sundays, at 10:15am and 12:00pm (services are identical). All services are held in our main auditorium, and age-appropriate classes for kids (infant - 5th grade) and Jr High teens are available.
Where is NPWC located?
Our campus is a two-story building located at 3340 Badger Road in North Pole, Alaska, at the intersection of Badger Road and Hurst Road. We are just a short distance from Eielson AFB, Ft. Wainwright, and Fairbanks!
What are services like?
The NPWC service experience is contemporary, and we welcome you to come as you are! North Pole is very casual; you will find everything from a suit and tie to shorts and flip-flops on Sundays. Every Worship Experience will include music and singing, announcements, offering, and the day's message.
What is available for my little ones and elementary kids?
Glad you asked! We love kids, and we believe our children are not only the church of tomorrow, but also the church of today. On Sundays at 10:15am and 12:00pm, we offer LittleLights (infant-pre/K) and CityLights (K-5th) Kid Ministry classes. These classes are high-impact and high-energy, strong in Biblical word and truth. We use the Orange curriculum, sharing God's word in age-appropriate and kid-friendly formats.
How will I check my kids in for Children's Ministry?
Our goal is to make the check-in experience fun, easy, and engaging! As a guest, we have a special check-in station just for you; you are welcome to check your kids in up to 20 minutes before the service begins. For safety purposes, you will be asked to share some basic information on your child at check-in, such as if your child has allergies or if another adult has permission to pick them up from class. Both you and your child will receive a coded name tag, one for your child to wear and one for you to keep.
What do you offer for my teens?
Another great question! Jr. High class (6th-8th grade) is available at the 10:15am and 12:00pm Sunday morning worship experiences. Jr High teens are not required to check in; your teens are encouraged to join you for praise and worship in the main auditorium, and will then be invited to attend Jr High class at the start of the message. Sr. High (9th-12th grade) students meet every Sunday night at 6:30pm at NPWC for worship and a relevant message specifically for them.
Will I be pointed out as a guest?
Never! We value your trust in us! We invite you to meet our Senior Pastors, Phillip and Teffonie Wyman, at a special guest reception just for you, in the Base Camp room directly off the lobby, after each Sunday morning service. We'd like to give you a gift and, if you have any questions, you're welcome to ask!
Is NPWC affiliated with a denomination?
Great question! NPWC is inter-denominational, and we are affiliated with Churches In Covenant, based in Carrollton, Texas. Our Senior Pastors have submitted themselves under an Apostolic covering of CIC-affiliate pastors, who provide insight, guidance, and mentorship to not only our pastors, but our entire body. Ok, it sounds great so far - but anything else I should know?
Yes! We want you to know that we value you! We value your time and your attention, and we will always do our best to provide strong, relevant Word and an atmosphere of acceptance and family. You won't find any perfect people at NPWC, but you will find people who know that a church isn't a building, but rather the family of Christ - together, we are the church, and we're glad you're here! You belong!
